Five years have passed since the ASK talent agency closed its doors.
The people who once spent their days calming furious actors, negotiating impossible contracts and preventing small disasters from becoming public scandals have moved into separate lives. Andréa Martel has made the biggest change of all: she has left talent representation behind and pursued her ambition to direct.
Her first film should mark the beginning of a new career. Instead, the production begins falling apart before filming can properly start.
Andréa’s lead actor withdraws only days before the cameras are scheduled to roll. With the project in danger of collapsing, she turns to the people who understand professional chaos better than anyone—the former ASK team.

The closure of ASK scattered a group whose working relationships were never simple.
Mathias, Gabriel, Noémie, Hervé, Camille, Arlette and the other familiar figures did not always agree, but the agency forced them to solve problems together. The former colleagues are not returning to their old office as though nothing changed. Five years have passed. Their careers and priorities have moved forward, while old disagreements may still be waiting beneath the excitement of seeing one another again.
Andréa needs them to save her film. They must decide whether helping her is worth entering another production crisis.
That gives the reunion a real purpose. It is not simply a parade of familiar characters. Andréa’s emergency requires each person to bring something from the agency years into a completely different professional situation.

The original series followed the machinery surrounding actors: contracts, publicity, personal crises and the endless negotiations required to keep a career moving.
The film shifts that chaos onto a working set.

These appearances should serve the story rather than interrupt it. In Call My Agent!, celebrity guests were most effective when their fictional problems revealed something about the agents handling them.
Here, they can test Andréa differently. She must deal with famous performers not as their representative but as the person responsible for what happens in front of the camera.
The relationships behind the comedy
The professional crisis brings everyone together, but the emotional value comes from what has happened during their time apart.
ASK was never merely a workplace. Its employees competed for clients, kept secrets, formed relationships and occasionally damaged one another while trying to keep the agency alive. Closing the business did not erase those connections.
Andréa’s request for help may therefore feel different to each former colleague. Some will see an opportunity to rebuild an old partnership. Others may question why they should risk their current stability for someone else’s dream.
The film can draw comedy from the disorder, but it also has a more reflective question to answer: what remains of a work family after the workplace disappears?

Do you need to watch the series first?
The film’s basic storyline is easy to understand without extensive preparation: a first-time director loses her leading actor and reunites her former talent-agency colleagues to rescue the project.
However, the original four-season series provides the history behind the relationships. Returning viewers will understand why Andréa trusts certain people, clashes with others and finds it difficult to separate professional ambition from personal loyalty.
New viewers can still follow the immediate production crisis, but the reunion will carry more emotional weight for people who already know the ASK team.
Anyone planning a complete rewatch should begin with Season 1 and continue in order. Viewers with less time could revisit the fourth-season finale to remember where the agency and its principal characters were left.
Who made Call My Agent! The Movie?
Émilie Noblet directs the film from a screenplay by original series creator Fanny Herrero and Lison Daniel.
That creative continuity is important. The appeal of Call My Agent! came from its understanding of an industry that is ridiculous, demanding and deeply personal at the same time. Bringing Herrero back gives the movie a direct connection to the voice of the series.

The challenge will be balancing a large returning cast with the central crisis. Ninety minutes is considerably tighter than an entire television season, so every reunion and celebrity appearance needs to move Andréa’s story forward.
